What good is seeing clearly if what we’re looking at is a mess?

Operating more sustainably and advocating for our planet is a priority at Bailey Nelson.  For us, this means making responsible choices when it comes to materials and our supply chain, growing our collection of quality glasses made from bio acetate and recycled materials, focusing on reducing waste, and supporting social programs through recycling our product.

We’ll never claim to be something we’re not and whilst we’re proud of the steps we’ve made so far, we recognise this is only the beginning of our journey.

Bio & Recycled Acetate

We’re working closely with our manufacturing partners to use more sustainable materials to reduce our environmental impact, whilst ensuring that our quality standards are not compromised.

21% of our glasses are currently made using bio acetate or recycled acetate. Our goal is for all of our frames to be made using these materials in the future.

Bio Acetate

Bio acetate is made using bio-based material from renewable sources including cotton, wood pulp and grains rather than fossil fuels.

Recycled Acetate

Recycled acetate is made using pre-consumer plastic waste. Cut offs from factory production are crafted into new acetate and made into new glasses, reducing the overall production of waste in the manufacturing process and supporting a circular economy.

Recycling Glasses and sunglasses

Bailey Nelson is determined to help give your unwanted glasses a second life! Millions of people across the world lack access to basic eye care services and the Recycle For Sight Program collects usable glasses to support those in need of corrective lenses.

When you donate your old frames to the program they are inspected, cleaned and refurbished as needed.  They are then delivered to communities in need across the globe.

To donate, simply bring your old glasses (any brand is fine!) into one of our stores and place them into the recycling box.
